IT Support & System Engineer
Your role as IT Support and System Engineer includes maintaining system uptime, optimizing performance, supporting end-users and contributing actively in implementing robust security measures, all to enable seamless business operations and support organizational growth. You will also play a strategic role, cooperating with business representatives, the engineering team, suppliers and the head of IT. In this position, you will:
Systems Administration & Maintenance
Manage and maintain servers, workstations and other IT infrastructure.
Ensure the availability, performance and security of systems.
Apply patches, updates and upgrades to operating systems and software.
Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues.
Support & Troubleshooting
Provide technical support for hardware, software and network issues to employees.
Manage helpdesk tickets and ensure timely resolution.
Train and assist users on IT systems and best practices.
Network Management
Configure, manage and troubleshoot network devices (e.g., routers, switches, firewalls).
Monitor network performance and optimize configurations for efficiency and security.
Implement and maintain VPNs and secure remote access solutions.
Security Management
Implement and maintain security measures, such as firewalls, antivirus software and intrusion detection/prevention systems.
Conduct regular security assessments and audits.
Develop and enforce security policies and procedures.
System Design & Implementation
Design and implement new IT solutions or systems based on business requirements.
Plan and execute system integrations, migrations and upgrades.
Collaborate with other teams to align IT systems with business goals.
Backup & Disaster Recovery
Manage backup solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
Develop and test disaster recovery plans.
Perform regular backup verification and restore tests.
Vendor & Resource Management
Liaise with hardware and software vendors for procurement and support.
Manage software licenses and hardware inventory.
Evaluate and recommend new technologies or tools to improve IT operations.
Documentation & Reporting
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Maintain accurate records of IT assets and configurations.
Prepare reports on system performance, security incidents and support metrics.
Compliance & Policy Enforcement
Ensure that IT systems and processes comply with relevant regulations and standards. E.g. GDPR, Security practices etc
Develop and enforce IT policies, such as acceptable use, password policies and data protection.
For this role, we are looking for someone with 2-3 years of hands on experience, as well a degree in systems and network administration studies or higher education. Relevant technical certifications will be added advantage. Ideally, you will have:
Basic knowledge of programming and database
Sound knowledge of Windows and Linux Servers
Domain Controller (Local & Azure)
Networking concepts
Hands on skills for computers and peripherals replacement, troubleshooting
Virtualization (VM Ware)
Firewall & Security best practices.
Cloud computing/Azure/AWS basics for implementing.
Knowledge of Scripting
SharePoint basics
Fluent in English (verbal and written)
