Senior Buyer
About the job
As a Senior Buyer, you will work closely with suppliers, ateliers, and various internal teams, taking responsibility for managing one or more of our fabric collections in line with our company’s DNA. Your main responsibilities will include:
Translate the company’s vision into sourcing, pre-selecting, and proposing collection options through supplier meetings and visits to trade fairs;
Collaborating cross-functionally to finalise collections, which involves requesting prices, placing orders, and coordinating with different departments;
Maintaining good relationships with our suppliers;
Managing the budget & margin for the seasonal collection;
Preparing and organising the timely ordering of fabric samples for internal use, points of sale, and marketing purposes;
Overseeing and evaluating garment samples, focusing on measurements, quality, durability, washing, and shrinkage;
Administering our fabrics, creating import files, and ensuring that our system is consistently updated, including pricing information;
Supporting the Creative department by providing input on collection fabrics;
Offering fabric-related insights to the customer care team;
Analysing defects and customer feedback, and liaising with suppliers and ateliers to find effective solutions;
Representing the Buying team in company-wide and IT projects;
Managing your own planning and that of the junior with which you will be working.
About you
We are looking for a candidate who meets the following criteria:
Holds a bachelor’s degree in fashion or a textile-related field;
Has 5+ years of experience in a similar role;
Experience with men’s formalwear is a plus;
Has an interest in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR);
Demonstrates an optimistic, flexible, and solutions-focused attitude, consistently communicating effectively and collaborating both within the team and across departments to identify and implement the best solutions to challenges;
Demonstrates the ability to work independently and as part of a team, consistently meeting strict deadlines while coordinating and motivating junior buyer(s);
Is proficient in spoken and written English;
Possesses advanced skills in Microsoft Office.
