3D Development Thesis Internship

About the thesis project

The central research question is how 3D development can add value to the made-to-measure process. The investigation will focus on Style3D and the possibilities of working digitally from existing 2D patterns toward 3D visualisation, evaluation and further applications.

Possible research directions include:

·    Exploring how Style3D can support and improve the product development process.

·    Investigating the workflow from 2D patterns to 3D simulation and visualisation.

·    Identifying benefits such as clearer communication, earlier evaluation and more efficient collaboration.

·    Exploring the potential value of 3D development for other departments, such as Production, Sales, Marketing, Buying or Training.

·    Investigating whether 3D tools could also support colleagues on the shop floor and improve the connection between product development and the customer experience.

·    Translating the findings into practical recommendations for future use within the organisation.

The topic is currently a broad starting point. During the application process, we can refine the research question and scope together, based on your interests, study requirements and the possibilities within the department.

Your role in the team

Alongside your thesis research, you will be part of our daily work and gain practical insight into product development in a made-to-measure environment. You will:

·    Contribute to ongoing departmental projects.

·    Support the team with practical and daily tasks.

·    Help with pattern-related, product development and digital development activities where relevant.

·    Share your observations and findings with the team throughout the project.

·    Work closely with colleagues in a young, collaborative and hands-on team.

About you

·    You are enrolled in a relevant bachelor’s or master’s programme and are looking for a graduation or thesis internship.

·    You are curious about the made-to-measure process and eager to understand how craftsmanship and technology can work together.

·    You have an eye for shapes, lines, proportions and garment construction.

·    You are familiar with 2D patterns and have experience with, or a strong interest in, 3D garment simulation.

·    Experience with Style3D is an advantage, but curiosity and the willingness to learn are equally important.

·    You can work independently, structure your research and take initiative.

·    You enjoy working in a young team and are happy to support colleagues with daily tasks when needed.

·    You have a good command of English and communicate clearly.
